elcome!
Exton Pennsylvania, also known as the crossroads of Chester County, has
been a desireable place to live and conduct business for hundreds of years.
Located in West Whiteland Township at the interesection of Routes 30 and
100, the village of Exton is the retail hub of Chester County. With many
historic buildings still standing and a wide variety of shops and restaurants,
you're sure to find what you're looking for in Exton.
When I first moved to Chester County Pennsylvania in 1978,
Exton seemed little more than an intersection with a Gulf station, a Howard
Johnson's, a small, corkscrew shaped mall and an ice cream restaurant
with a big Guernsey cow on the sign. My, how Exton has changed! Many of
the historic inns and homesteads remain however, and have been adapted
for modern day commercial use. Some are also private residences. Their
preservation helps make Exton Pennsylvania a unique place to live, work
and shop!
This directory is designed by a local person to help you
conserve your precious time and gasoline and to help you find exactly
what you want and need when visiting. Use this site to investigate shopping,
dining, history and more. You can also send us suggestions of things you'd
like us to include in our guide. Use the navigation links to the left
to find what you're looking for and remember to stop back now and then
as we're a new site and we'll be adding more information, pictures and
maps soon!
Did you know.... that Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt
Ryan is from Exton?..that one of the orginal mile markers for the Lancaster
Turnpike(completed in 1794) now Route 30, is on display in the Ship Inn?
